Workpackages and internal structure of strand 1 Phonetic and phonological Complexity
The strand "Phonetic and phonological complexity" is composed of 35 faculty members (professors, associate professors or researchers), 2 engineers, 35 PhD students and several post-doctal fellows, which depend from 8 distinct research laboratories. This strand can also benefit from several international and national scientific collaborations. These various partnerships should allow producing interseting scientific publications of a high standard, but it should also allow getting patents and developing spin-off companies (see in particular Workpackage PPC 10).
Research is organized in 9 workpackages addressing the following topics:
- constituent complexity and structure such as the syllable (workpackage PPC1), the features (workpackage PPC 9), the prosodic constituents (workpackage PPC7) and phonological repair (workpackage PPC8);
- language change and variation in diachrony (workpackage PPC 2) as well as in synchrony (workpackage PPC 6);
- Phonetics and phonology of non-standard speech as in learners' productions (workpackage PPC4), motor disorders (workpackage PPC5) and laryngeal behavior (workpackage PPC 3).
